The Office of Postgraduate Medical Education is responsible for overseeing the educational and administrative aspects of all the postgraduate residency programs at Queen's University. We have an 'open door' policy and residents are assured confidentiality by all members of Postgraduate team.

Director of Resident Affairs

The Postgrad office is happy to welcome Dr. Melissa Andrew as our new Director of Resident Affairs.

Dr. Andrew will be enriching the postgraduate experience by establishing and maintaining support services for residents.  She will be available to provide support, counseling and referrals to postgraduate residents in difficulty, as well as provide support for International Medical Graduates and identify existing University programs of interest to the international community.  Dr. Andrew will inform residents and faculty when contentious issues arise.  She will also be available to facilitate the transition from undergraduate medical student to postgraduate resident.

Residents as Teachers (RaTs)

Due to the success of the first Residents as Teachers (RaTs) program, the Postgrad office is happy to announce that Dr. Leslie Flynn is currently hosting this educational program for the 2008-2009 year.  RaTs is an educational program for residents who are interested in developing their skills as a teacher.

For those Residents who have registered to participate in the RaTs program for the 2008-2009 year, the fourth session, 'Developing a Teaching Dossier', will take place this Wednesday, December 3rd with Dr. Andy Leger from the Centre for Teaching and Learning.
